Ubuntu 26.10 (my theory)

first there will be a more thinks in rust

In Ubuntu, some drivers and packages are now partially or completely in rust, e.g. Ubuntu Desktop Installer, Snapd, Parts of gnome, Firmware Updater

two there will be a more thinks in security center

In my opinion, the security center was not created just for one function, but ultimately there will be at least 5 of them, these may be functions either transferred from settings or new functions, e.g. built-in antivirus or checking installed packages and applications.

The third thing in my opinion will be kernel 7.

I’m not implementing it in Ubuntu 26.04 because there’s a future release next week and the final release is on April 23rd and 26.10 is the first version after LTS, so they can try it on version 26.10.

26.04 is getting Linux 7.0, no need to wait until 26.10.

The ntpd (network time protocol daemon) may be switched to the rust alternative, ntpd-rust, in 26.10.

I doubt they will change the installer or firmware updater any time soon. Those were relatively recently rewritten and use memory safe programming languages. And snapd is already using a mostly memory safe language.

They are unlikely to introduce a new kernel so close to the official release, especially since the kelner Future Frize update is coming in a week. They introduced it 2 months ahead of time with Ubuntu 24.04, but in a month and a half the official release of the add-on will be the first stable version of the 7.0 kernel in mid-April, that is, after Future Frize, they will not provide an unstable kernel in the LTS version.

Ubuntu recently moved to a more aggressive kernel release policy. They’ve already stated they plan to use Linux 7.0 (even if it does not have a stable release at the time of Ubuntu’s release). Also note that while it says 6.20, that is actually 7.0.

You beat me to it! The announcement of the new policy is here:
