Maybe the OP wrote the ISO directly to the internal drive?
Initially I thought this could be related to “burning” to an external drive, hence my comment above. But now I’m getting the impression it was to the internal drive.
My problem is solved now thanks …
The USB drive that I was using for the ISO was incompatible. It was a WesternDigital 1 TB.
A 16 GB USB stick worked perfectly.
