New welcome feature: There is now an updates indicator in Ubuntu 25.10 for the panel. Clicking opens Software Updater app.

That’s interesting, because I remember having seeing that icon before. Unfortunately, I don’t recall how long ago.

With Wayland the Software Updater was stealing focus. See the bug and OMG! Ubuntu’s writeup.

Very convenient, I like it a lot. It stays orange (active) after the installation has been completed, though. Or at least it does sometimes, will keep watching to see how consistent this is.
