Ubuntu 25.10/GNOME49: can't stop touchpad gestures

I’m running 25.10 w/ GNOME 49 (right?) on a Dell XPS 13. After the upgrade, I noticed that there are new touchpad gestures. They seem broken and with not way to disable.

Ubuntu Version:
25.10

Desktop Environment (if applicable):
GNOME

Problem Description:
In several apps (e.g., papers?, firefox) I use two-finger on touchpad to scroll but the effect is to grow/shrink the screen. Also, it seems the gestures has “modes” where I have to click to exit out of some unknown mode. Is there documentation for this? I didn’t find anything searching.

I use 25.10 too, but I don’t see any issue.

Can you try a “pinch” gesture, where you move forefinger and thumb apart or together, in a scalable app, like firefox?

I am experiencing similar problems on my Dell 5406 after upgrading to 25.10. I use two finger scrolling a lot, but after the upgrade, it seems that sometimes the scrolling becomes stuck, and operating the touchpad with a single finger continues to scroll the screen. I have to repeatedly two finger tap or scroll to release the touchpad back to normal operation. Also, sometimes tap to click stops working, as well as two finger for right click. The physical buttons for left and right click work as normal, so to me it seems as if there is some kind of “sticky” scrolling mode or similar, but nothing new seems to be in the settings. Other two finger gestures work as normal, like pinch to zoom, but I never use that in normal operation.

@timgreen, I experience the same. It is a very common issue for me. And it happens on many apps, so I believe a GNOME issue.
