Ubuntu 25.10 - External Screen - Login black

Hello

I’m using Ubuntu 25.10 on my laptop. When booting on the laptop, the login-screen is shown as expected. When I have attached my dock + external display, then instead of the login-screen I only get a black screen. I know the login-screen is there (because of the ubuntu error sound when clicking on keyboard)

I did try to switch display with the Super+P Key or using ESC, CTRL-ALT-F1, but nothing worked. Also after unplugging the dock, the screen on the laptop remains black.

Workaround: Login on the laptop, once logged in I can attach the dock and all works as expected.

Is there any way to debug the issue?

Anyone an idea which logs I could verify? Thanks

Due another issue i changed GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="text" and now I see that the system hangs in this step. The red dots are blinking and these 3 jobs are rotating through when the second monitor / dock is attached

(1 of 3) Job gpu-manager.service/start running
(2 of 3) Job nvidia-persistance.service./start running
(3 of 3) Job snap.docker.nvidia-contianer-toolkit.service/start running
