Ubuntu 24.04 Radeon HD 3000 being reported as HD 4200

Hello.
Thanks for reading my topic.
I have used Ubuntu 24.04 boot startup using usb pen drive only for test an mainboard AM3.
That mainboard specification is IGP Radeon HD 3000 northbridge 760G.
In Ubuntu boot startup process show an error message about not being possible initialize UVD support for the IGP.
When the OS is totally started the IGP is reported as being Radeon HD 4200.
Using hardinfo show being Radeon HD 4200 in NB880 too.
That’s strange.

Is possible Ubuntu use wrong driver for an mainboard device ?
How see if really that mainboard are being used the correct drivers ?

Have an nice week.

Run this in the terminal and post the output wrapped with code tags:
lspci -nnk | grep -A3 VGA

Don’t worry.
Had this too.
Changing from ati/radeon to amdgpu driver made the UVD issue disappear.
amdgpu has expanded its support for older chips recently, so it might be worth to try it out even if a few years ago amdgpu did not support the chipset yet.
