Ubuntu 24.04 gnome-disks hangs formatting LUKS+EXT4

Hi,
Ubuntu 24.04 gnome-disks hangs when formatting a USB external spinning disk with LUKS+EXT4. I’m not sure if it’s actually hanging or if it’s just taking a long time to erase the disk, as I didn’t check the “erase entire disk” option.

The very same disk and procedure works in Ubuntu Desktop 22.04.

A brief update, testing a different USB drive was not able to reproduce the problem, I think the OLD disk is the culprit.
