Hi all !!

I’m using ubuntu 22.04 and sound stops randomly in any web browser I use (Firefox, Chrome, Chromium, Vivaldi, etc…) if I stop the player and start again the sound back again for a few sec, min or hours randomly.

This is the hardware I use:

Sorry, I’m not able to parse the hardware listing enough to figure out: What audio hardware are you playing audio to and how is it connected to your computer?

Are there any related messages in journalctl -b from around the time the audio stops?

Are you using Pulseaudio or Pipewire for audio? If Pipewire, please run the following command:

pw-top

… then reproduce the issue while that’s running - any informative output? (to exit pw-top and go back to the terminal’s main screen, press q)

Also see this thread:

Thanks for your reply.

Audio hardware is CMI8738/CMI8768 PCI Audio, I use speakers connected to line out connector. I tried to use HDMI audio with the built in monitor speakers with same result.

I use pulseaudio and don’t have any message referring to audio in journalctl -b, this is the output of the command:

That is only the start of the output, and too early to show anything audio-related. By default journalctl -b displays its output in a pager: use arrow keys (and Home/End and PageUp/PageDown) to scroll the text, and q to exit

When posting output, to preserve its formatting and make it easier for other forum users to read, please type a line of only three backticks before and a line of only three backticks after the output, like this:

```
copy/paste output here
```

You can also get this by selecting the output and click the </> icon above the textarea where you type the post
