After many discussions within the committee, the UbuCon Asia Committee is glad to announce that UbuCon Asia 2026 will be held at COSCUP 2026 in Taipei, Taiwan. We have been coordinating closely with the COSCUP organizing team following their successful collaboration model with Ruby Conf Taiwan 2025. The teams had time to align on partnership terms and logistics. After a meeting with the COSCUP team on January 5th to discuss how we can collaborate, and our internal team meeting on January 25th (2026) to confirm our key event organizing plans for this year, the UbuCon Asia Committee unanimously agreed to this joint hosting partnership.
The event will be held at the COSCUP venue in Taipei, Taiwan during the early-mid August weekend. Once we confirm exact dates and room allocations with the COSCUP team, we will share more event details soon. Hopefully, we’ll see everyone in Taipei this summer!

Next Call for bid schedule
As we are trying to confirm the next event location earlier so we can prepare events with enough time, we will announce the call for bids for UbuCon Asia 2027 in a few weeks. Bid submissions for 2027 will be due in late April or early May 2026. If you want to host UbuCon Asia 2027 in your city, we recommend starting to prepare your bid today. The Bid process and template for 2027 will be almost the same as 2026.
