Trouble installing UGREEN Wi-Fi6 AX900 uSSB Dual Band Wi-Fi Adapter

Ubuntu Version:
25.04

Desktop Environment (if applicable):
Maybe one or two of these.

Problem Description:
Got a new Wi-Fi 6 adapter from Amazon. It does not install nor provide any configuration help. Should I just send it back? I thought this would not be so difficult. P.S. The website for UGREEN is mostly in Chinesium, so I am at a loss. Should I give up on having faster Wi-Fi on this computer? Or just hard-wire it? VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

I do have another Wi-Fi network adapter, but it is Wi-Fi 5, and I just bought a new Netgear Wi-Fi 6 router. The marketing material and package say it is Linux compatible.

Thank you.

Tried the steps here. https://askubuntu.com/questions/1532785/how-to-install-wifi-usb-ugreen-ax900 It did some stuff, but no idea what, and it had errors. So, now I have no idea what it did.

Oh, I have the older adapter in, and that is working. The new one is plugged in, but can’t get it working. Under “Show Apps”, it says as the last entry: “Uninstall UGREEN”, but I do not see where it might get configured. It may have installed this as Windows somehow. I’m really at a loss here.
Thank you.

In the description on Amazon:

Please note this Adapter doesn't support MacOS/Linux/Win 8, 8.1, 7, XP

I swear it said the opposite previously.

So, what is a decent, supported, inexpensive, auto-install adapter comparable to this, that works in Ubuntu Linux?

I use https://www.carrierpigeon.com
I’ve trained it to fly to the big server in the big city, grab the info and return home.
Sometimes it brings me back the data in less than two days.

In the meantime, have a look at this useful info

Ha. Thanks for the info. I will check it out.
D.

Please post results from terminal for lsusb with the UGREEN plugged in

Well, I got something called a Panda Wireless PAU0F AXE3000 Tri-Band WiFi 6E 802.11ax USB adapter. I now get 75-85 Mbps instead of the previous 10-25 Mbps. So, I guess that is an improvement. Not seeing the full potential of my 300 Mbps Charter/Spectrum connection.

I would go with adapters using Intel wireless. The drivers for those are part of the Linux kernel.

I bought a PCI card using this chipset for a desktop machine:
Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX210 (because the ISPs wireless router is 6E)

It worked out of the box. Nothing to install.
