Hi,
in Windows, I used darkthumbs, an application that showed me the icon for .zip files containing images with a thumbnail of the first image.
I haven’t found an equivalent application for Ubuntu.
Does anyone know one?
I use Dolphin.
Thanks.
Are you using main-line Ubuntu (Gnome) with Dolphin installed as the file manager or KUbuntu (KDE) which has Dolphin by default ? This might be important because the thumbnail infrastructure of Gnome and KDE is separate from the file manager and quite different from each other.
Anyway, one situation where zip-files full of images are common are digital comics and they are usually named with an extension of ‘.cbz’ (Comic Book Zip). There are thumbnailers for those and from what I read I believe KDE comes with one of them installed by default. You might want to do a search for ‘thumbnailer cbz’ plus the name of the GUI you’re using.
