GNOME Builder as an IDE, GNOME Text Editor for a simple little editor/random files.

How about Leafpad for text files and Geany for a simple IDE?

Dear Ubuntu Summit team,

Remember in the dark and distant past using both in days of the dot com crash. Can’t remember which was ‘best’. Suspect it might be context dependent.

I initially voted fro Emacs. But then un voted as could not in good conscience say one way or another.
