Hi all,
Anyone here managed to get The Division 2 to work with gamescope on two monitors? I would deeply appreciate your help then.
I use Ubuntu 26.04 with two monitors (2560x1440) and I wish the game to see it as one 5120x1440 screen. I managed top start it in window mode, but then the mouse button just would click at all for some reason.

Thanks
I don’t do that kind of gaming anymore, but I did some light reading on Gamescope. Have you tried forcing the resolution to the one of your expanded desktop?
gamescope -w 5120 -h 1440 -- <game>
The invaluable Arch wiki has some tips & tricks.
Thanks, I tried that but didn’t help. The resolution is set at 5120x1440 with that command, but its get stuck to one screen and cannot be spanned across.
That’s unfortunate. ![]()
Have you seen this still open issue on the Gamescope Github site?
By the looks of some comments, it might be GNOME refusing to open windows which span multiple screens, but there seem to be workarounds for that.
Oh, before I forget, have you tried forcing fullscreen with the -f switch?
Still reading (on and off) a little in that GH issue, I came across a reference to DisplayLink, which seems like it could be the solution; create one virtual display spanning all your monitors, IIUC. The author of that comment said he’d wait till it’s more mainstream; I don’t know if Ubuntu providing DKMS modules counts, but it looks like a good start in the right direction. But that’s about as far as I can help, I’m afraid, because I don’t have any hardware to play with and try things; so far I’ve failed to emulate a multi-display setup in a VM. ![]()
Thanks for info. Yes I tried the -f switch.
I managed to get it working…sort of. I skipped gamescope, but was able to stretch it across my two screens anyway by using window mode (in-game) and then changed in-game the setting to place my character on left screen. I can complement with exact info later on where to find it.
If I close down the game, it remembers the setting each time I start it up.
