19th September 2026 is Software Freedom Day and Open Source Glasgow will be at The Gamer Club in Glasgow helping people repair, upgrade, and install Linux on their laptops.

Please let anyone know about it that may benefit from bringing their old, slow, or neglected laptop and give it a new lease of life! 
Whether their machine has become sluggish, needs a bit of maintenance, or they’re curious about trying Linux and free/open-source software, bring it along and they will see what they can do.

Install Linux and explore a new operating system
Revive older laptops instead of sending them to landfill
Learn and tinker with your own machine

Hi. I can’t actually attend this one. I would have liked to, but I already have a prior engagement.
I have asked to be kept informed about future events and I have some Ubuntu UK Community USB sticks that I will take along to help the install process and also postcards to distribute giving details of how Linux users (new and old) can reach the Ubuntu UK Community.
