Sleeping mode issue after upgrading to Ubuntu 26.04, Nvidia driver

Ubuntu Support Template

Ubuntu Version:
Example: 26.04 LTS,

Desktop Environment (if applicable):
GNOME, Wayland

Problem Description:
when I turn my pc (tower HP)to sleeping mode I have the fans of the graphic card going noisy, then black screen and total freeze. Nothing to do but reboot. Graphic Card : GTX1060 driver 580.142 . I tried to install driver 535 with no effect. I also tried with no Nvidia driver an then sleeping mode is OK but not satisfying situation. This points clearly a Nvidia/Wayland driver Issue I guess. Any idea ? (I’m now with 580 driver)

Relevant System Information:
GTX1060 driver 580.142

What I’ve Tried:
Change driver, and even no proprietary driver this one make sleeping mode work.

Ok thanks, workaround on the discuss didn’t help for me.

I had a similar issue with desktop freezing on Ubuntu 26.04 using nvidia graphics. However i had my solution to the issue, though i’m using an RTX card so i don’t use the same driver version as you.
