Hi,
Sometimes I have the problem that some applications, e.g. Firefox, go crazy and consume 50% or more of CPU power when it normally consumes a few percent. Not wanting to close the application and at the same time wanting to limit its resources so that other applications can run in System Monitor, I wanted to set Affinity to one of the CPU threads and leave the other CPU threads free. Unfortunately, this doesn’t work and the crazy application still takes 50-75% of the CPU. Setting Priority to Very Low doesn’t change much in CPU usage either. It does make a difference when it gets to 100%, but if the other threads take 10% and the crazy one takes 50% then it doesn’t matter.
How to force Set Affinity more effectively ?
