Hi,
my name is Charly and I am located close to Linz/Austria,
I studied Computer Science on the JKU/Linz - AT which I finshed in the 90s. Currently I enjoy it to work as a freelancer/ full stack developer mainly on Angular/Spring Boot/Kotlin.
I like it to put the human in the center of the design - may it be a web page, an app or a console application. And I belive that storytelling is important even for (console)applications as well!
I use Ubuntu, mainly for server applications with interruptions for many years and installed my first Linux beeing a DJ from many floppy disks - now you can estimate roughly my age 
Since a few months I make some very promising experiments in developing apps with flutter / dart and rust as a backend currently mainly for myself
- A travel manager for overlander with my own offline routing algorithm (a bidirectional A* with ALT landmarks) based on OSM data.
- A photomanager for my dad who is 86 and was locked in into some well known photolibraries, which are too difficult for him to print his own pictures.
Why flutter / dart / rust? Cause it runs almost everywhere.
This is what I need to migrate within the next years (slowly) from Apple (which is my main working OS the last 15 years) to Ubuntu and having the same Apps / Data I currently like on Mac.
I’m convinced that Ubuntu is a powerful tool for many applications and should become part of everyday life for more and more people. 
That’s why I am here. Currently I would like to get into the whole Ubuntu Community and later hopefully I can contribute (to) the one or other app - it depends a little bit on my bread and butter projects ….

Beside working as a Software Engineer (and some years as a Senior Technical Product Manager in the area of Application Perfomance Monitoring) I love it to convert my mainly analog Puch G (an Austrian 4x4 Car) to an overlander vehicle and to visit other countries. Since last year I have a license as a radio amateur and do such fancy things as to try to get a connnection from Austria to Australia - radio waves only … no switch - no hub … only air inbetween
