Sam Bhanji | Membership Application

Hello

I have been a avid Linux user since 2020 providing operational support to the company I work for and its customers. I have used OpenSuSE and Ubuntu considerably as an end user. While I don’t consider myself a hoard core developer but I can make sense of source code.

Professional: I have spent most of my time as consultant working for a software company that developed commercial software using Java and deploying onto Windows and Linux operating systems. As a consultant it was my responsibility to deploy software on both platforms including some performance tuning the Linux kernel as required. The deployments occasionally included setting up a High Availability environment using 2-4 servers sharing a common data stack. While developing my skills working professionally, I also took the responsibility of using Linux (Ubuntu) at home in my home lab.

Personal: I have been part of Linux user groups interacting, contributing and trying to solve user problems. I deploy Ubuntu for learning whether VM, docker or bare metal for various software stacks that allow me to learn new advances when it comes to Linux. I run a home lab that I spend a lot of time tinkering with new and upcoming advancements. In my home lab I run a few servers as you can tell from my dashboard screenshot that follows:
