Running Google Play Dependent Apps on Anbox Cloud

Hi,
I’m trying to run some apps in Anbox Cloud for automation but they require Google Play Services to function, so -

  1. Has anyone successfully run apps that strictly require Google Play Services on Anbox Cloud?
  2. Are there any recommended workarounds such as using microG or custom addons to provide enough GMS support for these apps without fully integrating the proprietary GMS?
  3. Is there any alternative approach or tool that allows running such apps in a cloud environment without needing to build a custom, certified image with GMS?

I’d really appreciate any pointers, experiences, or guidance you can provide.

Hey Aneesh,

Anbox Clod provides builds of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) with no changes in compatibility to any other Android build. The only changes we apply are to enable running Android inside the LXC container runtime and to add some additional Anbox specific features.
