With our efforts to revive Edubuntu, we are attempting to introduce another extension to the Universe repository: Alphabetical App Grid.
The rationale and justification are that we believe children should be able to understand alphabetizing and cataloguing (we have application folders per educational subject), and this extension is multi-language localized. By having their desktop environment already catalogued and alphabetized, this sets that example and the computer itself becomes a better learning tool.
This would be enabled by default in Edubuntu, and we would be providing the maintenance by releasing any patches or new releases from upstream. Here is the commit that enables this by default in Edubuntu if the package exists.
I have uploaded the extension, and it is just awaiting Archive Admin approval at this time in Lunar, but apparently it will need to be allowlisted.
