RDP works only if user is already logged in UBUNTU 24.04

Cannot connect if the user is NOT already logged in,
this wont be good because I can’t leave the remote PC logged in,
is there some workaround to fix this, using Ubuntu rdp not other tools;
Thanks!

You can try this:

  • Open “Settings”
  • Select “System”
  • Select “Remote Desktop”
  • There are two tabs. Select “Remote Login”
  • Enable it, fill the needed info and try…

It seems to work, but I only get a black screen, and then it exits due to a timeout.

I don’t know the client you are using but you may try to change color depth / color mode:
24 works for me but 32 gives me a black screen.

Also make sure you have a concrete resolution and “RDP Gfx” selected in your client options.

Thanks, I managed to make it work using Remmina as client, i think the experience will be better with time.
