My wish list for 20.04 is:
-
Btrfs swapfile support (maybe a subvol for swap?) On ubiquity. Report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1818811
-
Ubiquity offers excellent support by default if you choose Btrfs (create the two subvol for the root (@) and the home (@home), maybe these subvol could be extended to /var (flag “nocow”), subvol /snap.
-
Notifications and a warning when there are snap updates automatically, so I know what is bothering my network, sometimes if after a while I do not use the PC, or restore a snapshot of Btrfs, I find many updates of the snap, having a warning or moving the update 1 hour later or the next day, would be very useful.
-
Other snap software center improvements: Notify the user after a snap software installation, which has the ability to add or remove permissions: click install software X> installation term> Warning with a window that the APP has permissions X and Y and with the ability to add or remove permissions immediately after installation.
-
An attention and improvement with the snap to boot: the other day I tried to remove the snapd and all the snaps, the startup has improved by a couple of seconds, I have tried flatpak and any installation does not affect the system boot operating (I have about 50 snap packages installed on the system).
