Printer does not print

Printer is recognized and drivers are automatically searched for. Printer operates BUT wheels out a blank page without printing.

Using an EPSON XP 212 printer.

From Epson’s XP 212 User Manual, it shows the following:

Also, have you checked out the following:

Have you adopted a hp printer, before?

(Edit: I just realized that the above message may not have been directed to me. Sorry for the interjection. Leaving the below posted, in case it was directed to me. )

If you meant “adopt” or “adapt”, for both scenarios, in the past, yes I have. HP is the brand which integrates most smoothly with CUPS (from my own experience with the models I worked with).

But I haven’t had HP for over 17 years now.

I currently have the Canon ImageCLASS MF3010, which does require special drivers because it is UFR II based interface which is Canon-proprietary.

Which Ubuntu release version are you using?
Has this always been a problem with this printer and your Ubuntu?
Have you tested printing from a terminal to see if it shows and warning/error messages.
Change to the directory in which a file resides, for example file.txt and just do: lp file.txt and watch the output.
