Ubuntu Version:
Example: 22.04 LTS, 24.04, 25.10
Problem Description:
has anyone here successfully installed openclaw on a Ubuntu live USB?
I am thinking about doing this, and just wanted to get some feedback on other users results, and any problems they’ve run into.
Ubuntu live sessions do not retain data or any applications installed on it after shutdown You do know this, do you not? You would have to install Ubuntu on to the USB memory stick.
I would like to quote from the Openclaw web site
Clears your inbox, sends emails, manages your calendar, checks you in for flights.
All from WhatsApp, Telegram, or any chat app you already use.
Sounds useful does it not? Giving that power to a program that is unavailable in the Ubuntu Software Center frightens me.
Regards
Yes , I realize that about live sessions.
I have made bootable USB with persistence before, so I thought maybe this would work in this case.
Do you have any detail about how you add the persistence? I hope some day the USB Creator tool will have an option to enable persistence natively instead of doing hacks and workarounds.
mkusb is a splendid utility for making a USB with persistence

If you really want to make sure that Openclaw can’t access your local data on ssd or hdd a live usb might not be enough ‘sandboxing’.
