A round of applause for developers!
I have this old MacBook still in working condition and have recently tried to install Linux on it. Candidates were: a certain Debian derivative and RHEL 10. Both got stuck at the EULA screen, not recognizing the keyboard and the trackpad. I obviosly can’t agree to terms and conditions without a functioning keyboard and pad.
So I tried the latest Ubuntu (24.04) and everything went almost flawless! Keyboard and trackpad properly recognized, screen the same high quality while this machine was running MacOS.
Free and open source software on a Retina display with the best trackpad among laptops with flawless installation- thank you developers! This laptop all of sudden got a few more rounds to go.
