Hi everyone,
Kernel 6.14 has passed extensive testing and is now generally available for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Ubuntu Pro 24.04, including Minimal and EKS variants.
How to get it?
Just run a regular apt upgrade and you will get the latest kernel and related packages.

Hi @carlos-bravo,
Are there images available that follow the kernel release cycle described in the following link? Ubuntu release cycle | Ubuntu
My organization cannot immediately upgrade to the latest version of the Linux kernel (6.14) and we would like to continue to use Linux version 6.8. From my understanding, we should be able to use the point release 24.0.4.(0|1), but it’s not clear how we can do this through the AMIs provided through the AWS Marketplace. Thanks!
Hi! Sorry for not replying sooner!
Ubuntu images on the cloud also follow the release cycle described there, with one key difference: by default, we ship AMIs with the HWE kernel package installed. That package is the one that gets updated. However, we also support the GA kernel for the entire support period of each Ubuntu release. You just need to switch by installing the original kernel package and uninstalling the HWE one.
If you run apt-cache policy linux-image-aws* in the console, you’ll see more information about the available “streams.” For example, linux-image-aws tracks the latest kernel, while linux-image-aws-lts-24.04 or linux-image-aws-6.8 will pin you to the GA kernel, which will continue receiving updates for that version.
