I recently made the switch from Windows to Ubuntu due to privacy concerns regarding an update Windows wanted to implement. Now that I’ve made the switch, I’ve had a lot of fun with the customization available haha. It’s also really nice to have installed something with a big community around it. Yay to open source
I’d like to slowly learn more about Linux, Ubuntu, and other tech related things. I’m pretty much a newbie, but I’ve had some nice tech wins using the terminal (even if I didn’t really understand what was going on lol).
Glad to see that you didn’t shy away from the terminal, because it is a bit of a leap. But as someone who once was in your shoes and who has since come to love the terminal, and the shell environment to go with it, let me reassure you, it is a great tool. Some things, believe it or not, can be so much simpler there. It is a fantastic utility to automate repetitive tasks or even build your own tools by combining the existing ones into a bigger whole.
And last but not least, welcome to the wonderful world of Ubuntu/Linux! All sorts of fun await you.
