With the demise of the old Wiki and the creation of the new, several questions arise. Does the LoCo Council want all new LoCo/Circle pages to be similar? If so has it created or appoved a template or are we free to design our own? Is there certain information that it wants on these pages? Under what category should these pages be created (There doesn’t seem to be a LoCo/Circle category)? I am sure that others will be asked, but we can start with these.
Thanks for raising this.
On categorization, I think any or both of the options below could be fine:
[[Category:LoCo]]or[[Category:LoCo teams]]- Subpages under
LoCo teams(camel case not required), e.g.,LoCo teams/Egypt.
We can set up redirects on the new wiki as needed, for example, LoCoTeams => LoCo teams, and so on, if and when new pages are added.
I can’t advise specifically on what type of template that you should use, but I just wanted to mention that the templates can be defined in wikitext or Lua.
I’m not that familiar with the LoCo pages from the old wiki(s). With that caveat in mind, I would ask those involved to consider whether the wiki is the best place for the content, or whether a platform like the Ubuntu Discourse may offer some benefits. If the answer is “It has to be the wiki” that’s OK, but it does warrant consideration, depending on how the LoCo pages are used and how you want to use them in future.
There has been no guidance from the LoCo Council on whether we need one and since most of us do have our own websites there may be no reason to create one. I merely raised the questions should the council (whenever we get a new one) decide that one is required.
