Problem Description:
I’m about a month into my shift from Windows to Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS. (Noble) on my new gaming PC and I’ve noticed a strange, repetitive issue:
When running Dota 2, while in a discord call my second online match will result in my system grinding to an absolute halt.
It hasn’t resolved itself (and I’m stressed in an online game so rush to “fix” it) when I have left it running for a couple of minutes.
I have been able to get the computer to respond to the super key once, after a 30-120 second delay (wasn’t counting).
The only way to resolve it so far is hitting the restart/power button on my PC case.
After which my PC restarts fine, I rejoin my call, startup Dota again and play the rest of the match just fine.
Relevant System Information:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
RAM: DDR5 32GB (2 x 16GB) 6000MT/s
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB GDDR6
2TB SSD with 1.4TB of open space
I’ve played other games for up to 8 hours without issue.
Desktop Environment should be Gnome.
My internet is less than ideal but shouldn’t be affecting my system like this.
Sys Logs:
I am unable to trouble shoot in the seconds I have as the system is grinding to a halt so the best I have is a copy of the syslog as seen below. This is I think the relevant portion up until I hit restart on my PC.
I don’t know how to get actionable info from this though.
The only thing I understand is one moment it’s working and the next dying due to Function calls timing out.
I also have a copy of the full syslog including everything before this portion and up until I pulled a copy of the logs (so including the reboot)

What I’ve Tried:
I’ve tried messing around with the app armor related to discord because that was the initial message I was seeing a lot of in the sys logs.
I believe it has now been allowed as I don’t see the denial in my syslog but the problem persists.
I honestly have no idea where to start on troubleshooting this now I can barely give a good description of the freeze.
