Any plans to migrate to dbus-broker for 26.04? Just curious.
Would be amazing to see dbus-broker become the default in 26.04, and it’s a drop-in replacement too with great performance, reliability, and security.
It looks like that Apparmor support in dbus-broker is still incomplete, so security would be actually worse and not better: https://github.com/bus1/dbus-broker/issues/419
Honest question- is the Apparmor implementation for dbus right now doing anything effective compared to the benefits of going to dbus-broker? Regardless, that Github issue seems promising in that Apparmor support may be fixed soon anyways, so that’d be nice.
The main blocker was GNOME (gdm) requiring dbus-run-session which has not been implemented in dbus-broker.
This seems to be fixed now in gdm; but a switch is unlikely to happen for 26.04 at this point in the cycle, lots more analysis is needed.
Sounds like a good candidate for switching early in the 26.10 cycle!
