Mir Office Hours - 2026-04-29 15:15UTC

We host Mir Office Hours every month

Everyone is welcome. No prior arrangements are necessary. You don’t need to sign-up, or register. Just click on the link to join, for as little or as much time as you can spare, at any time during the event.

In the past we’ve tried alternating this western-friendly time with an apac-friendly one but as the latter was only attended by Mir team members we chose to keep to a time when the community can participate.

We’ve had contact with a community member that cannot make this time (middle of their night). If there are more of you out there, then please let us know and we will try to accommodate you in future.

Agenda

  1. Actions from previous meeting
  2. Mir 2.26 released
  3. Documentation migration
  4. Mir 2.27 plan
  5. Trust-store Wayland implementation in Ubuntu Touch
  6. Any Other Business

If you have any questions you’d like us to answer or topics to cover, please feel free to ask them live, or leave them as comments below - we’ll be able to prepare better and select some to make space for in the agenda

Notes

We’ll post notes from each meeting in a comment below for posterity and discussion.

How about adding some goodies from Ubuntu Touch Land ™ to the agenda, specifically trust-store and it’s new Wayland implementation?

Draft minutes

1. Actions from previous meeting

2. Mir 2.26 [released]

(Release Mir 2.26.0 · canonical/mir · GitHub)

3. Documentation migration

4. Mir 2.27 plan

5. Trust-store Wayland implementation in Ubuntu Touch

@Alfred spoke about how this is now handled in Lomiri/Mir2.x. @alan_g asked about the legacy TPS code still in Mir - that is probably now dead.

6. …

  • Muhammad has some questions about implementing “form factor” support. @alan_g had some suggestions and asked for a PR that we can use for more detailed discussion.

  • Debian testing and Ubuntu 26.04LTS have Mir 2.25 (Ubuntu is sync’d from Debian)

Actions:

  • @saviq to improve Wayland protocol support documentation
  • @saviq to publish roadmap in docs
  • @alan_g to improve how-to-contribute stories
  • Muhammad to PR something for discussion
