why is there a minimum character limit?
I don’t know. Maybe @ian-weisser can tell us.
It’s to encourage meaningful discussion rather than “me to” and single-word, low-quality responses like “no”. So when people reply, they can articulate a meaningful “No, I tried that, and this happened, but not in the way you say, but like this” rather than “No”.
It also encourages turning replies to requests for help into more verbose, and thus explanatory responses. “This is now done, but you might need to refresh the page” vs just “Done”.
If people want to just indicate approval of something - click the icon under the post. To indicate something is a solution, click the under a post.
This also means other people don’t have to scroll through one-word posts, or get notifications or emails from someone with one-word in it.
