Problem Description

Thanks for reading my topic.
Testing the Lubuntu 26.04 live session not is possible mount internal and external disks using file managers or sudo mount.
The user need edit fstab adding the disk and a mount point.
Why not require to do it ? Changes in security ?
Have a nice week.

Copy-paste the complete sudo mount command and the full output. Do not type it in - copy in the terminal and paste here.

The command you used is always helpful.

I just booted up the Lubuntu 26.04.1 LTS ISO on a box beside me in TRY mode, and when it got running and I had my Lubuntu LXQt session functional, Ctrl+Alt+T to open a terminal and ran a mount command and sure enough the second ls command was showing me the contents of the file-system I’d mounted.

As @avb66 said, what actual command you entered is rather critical. I actually ‘guessed’ what ‘device’ I needed to mount, and my guess was good, but if I’d got an error I’d likely have just ran a lsblk command to work out what my first mount command should have been. In my case; I didn’t even know what partition I’d mounted, until I actually saw the results of my ls command too. Either way works for me.

( I used command, as I’d be unlikely to use a GUI tool to do that mount personally )

Thanks for all replies.

I had tried mount using KDE Partition Manager, Double Commander and PCManFM-QT.
