LibInput - Configuring Touchpad Detection Zones

Ubuntu Version: 24.04

Desktop Environment (if applicable): GNOME

Problem Description:
I’m setting up my new laptop, and the two-finger right-click on the trackpad has been very inconsistent. I finally realized that it only works when the two fingers are practically on top of each other. This is really uncomfortable for my hands, but it’s a good sign at least.

Since the gesture works, but the zone is just too narrow, that means it’s likely not an OS or hardware issue, and rather is something configurable through LibInput. Problem is, the docs are incredibly hard to figure out, with random unrelated configuration options all interspersed in a pile of high-level motivations. I can see that I can configure this, but I’ve looked at them for hours and I can’t figure out what I’m supposed to do.

Does anyone know how to change the detection zones for these kinds of touchpad gestures in LibInput?
