Problem Description
When subscribed to notifications every 5 minutes or thereabouts another identical notification is sent via email. Basically notification spam.
Relevant System Information
Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Landscape 26.04.0.1

Happy to provide logs on request. Please advise location.
What I’ve Tried
Read the online docs and can’t find any obviously relevant settings.
Moved to the Landscape category.
Hopefully, one of the team can take a look and help.

Hi @technetcare ! Thanks for posting about your issue, can you submit this as a bug on Landscape’s Launchpad page? (On the right, Report a bug)
It’s certainly fine to post it here as well for discussion, and community members can comment
but Launchpad is where to submit actual bug reports that are sent to the Landscape engineering team.

We are still unable to access Launchpad so if you or someone have a contact within Canonical this would be great.
I am seeing 3 active route announcements for Canonical’s /22 of IPv4 so for some reason they have decided to split it up. The why is not my concern but I note Launchpad and Ubuntu sites are within different netblocks and AS path, implying a different routing choice at Canonical.
If I ping Launchpad from our border routers (ie: source address from our upline providers) it works so its something affecting our IP’s.
So I am thinking most likely scenario is our route annoucements are not being seen by the part of Canonical’s network which hosts Launchpad or is return traffic is failing at AS3356.
Happy to hear any other suggestions which could explain this.
Did you file a bug report as requested above?
The Landscape engineering team are not going to come here to troubleshoot the issue.
In the bug report provide as much relevant information as possible.
Thanks
The site is inaccessible.
I am able to access the site from my location.
Are you using VPN or a proxy server?
Are you on the free or paid plan?
Yes, I know.
As I said, there is an issue and it needs Canonical to help sort it out because the problem is most likely at their end or their upline provider.
It needs someone to look in their route table and find out why half of their network is not able to reach us.
As they have an ASN and their own internet addressing (as do we) its a reasonable conclusion they may have a route table and not a default route. So therefore ability to reach your ISP does not mean full global connectivity.
At the time of this post this is the size of the global route table at my side:
IPv4 1,083,553 prefixes
IPv6 201,402 prefixes
So this is the real numbers. Not a home connection where the ISP does all the lifting. And its probably the same on Canonical’s side.
In a network there are two paths - the request and the path back. Both have to work.
If they have a route to us, then the issue is inbetween. If not, then its more likely at their end but this something which needs to be properly diagnosed.
This could be routing or something else causing the communication to be lost like a firewall.
I am not using a VPN and a proxy works at a higher OSI level.
Unless you are on a paid plan, I am not aware of another means of contacting the team other than through the Launchpad page.
Hopefully, someone else with more knowledge in this matter can assist.
I have done a bit of further looking at it and its not an internet or general routing issue. The reason I know this is because I can ping another host in the same /24 netblock.
So its probably a firewall issue or something left-field like geo-DNS handing out different, non functional, IP addresses to me.
The IP’s I am getting for Launchpad are:
Name: launchpad.net
Address: 185.125.189.223
Name: launchpad.net
Address: 185.125.189.222
Name: launchpad.net
Address: 2620:2d:4000:1009::f3
Name: launchpad.net
Address: 2620:2d:4000:1009::3ba
If someone could do an nslookup and share what IP’s they are getting would be great thanks. I have also tried some public DNS and getting the same.
