Landscape 24.04 cron scripts stopping working

What’s happening with Landscape 24.04 (self-hosted)? Yesterday I opened a ticket because /opt/canonical/landscape/scripts/sync_lds_releases.sh was failing with a 404 (check the URL called on that script, and you will see: https://landscape.canonical.com/get-lds-releases), to be told that “that this script has been deprecated and the URL https://landscape.canonical.com/get-lds-releases has been removed at this time.” Support told me to remove it from cron.

Today is /opt/canonical/landscape/scripts/report_anonymous_metrics.sh, also getting a 404 from the URL is calls, https://landscape.canonical.com/anonymous-metrics. Could a Canonical staff chime in on this?

Hey @pedantic! Thanks for reporting this. You can disable /opt/canonical/landscape/scripts/report_anonymous_metrics.sh as well. We made a recent change that impacts those two scripts, so this shouldn’t be an issue for any additional scripts.

This is a known issue that we’re expecting to fix in an upcoming release for 24.04. The scripts are obsolete now, so you can just disable them and won’t need to re-enable them later
