Ubuntu Version:
26.04 LTS
Desktop Environment (if applicable):
KDE
Problem Description:
I can’t seem to log in to any of the users in my domain when bound to AD in K26 (K24/K20 work fine). But what I can do is run: “sudo su - ” and log into any user I choose without their password and have full access to their accounts and the services they have network permissions to. The ID and GID match when I run “id” when I do that above command which seems like it could be a possible disaster if used the wrong way. I’m not sure if this is a bug of realmd/sssd or if it’s a Kubuntu thing, but ideally if anyone has any insight to why either a) I can’t log in to any of the accounts, error message is posted below; or b) why i’m able to log into any account running that sudo su - user without needing the user’s password; that would be awesome!
Relevant System Information:
I’m binding via realmd/sssd to our domain controller like we had done for K20 and K24. So I’m not sure if K26 uses a different method to binding or not but it’s definitely giving me the run around.
