Keyring doesn't always unlock

Hi All

This is for an Ubuntu 24LTS desktop on a laptop inspiron 15-7559,

When I boot up I get asked for for my keyring password, I enter it and the keyring popup disappears, but the applications are still not unlocked.

I have to reboot several times and enter several times the password for the keyring to unlock.

I have tried resetting the keyring a few times as well.

Only have this issue with this ubuntu laptop, all my other other linux based laptops and workstations unlock correctly when password is entered.

Any other ideas?

Regards

Review your logs (like /var/log/syslog) after a successful unlock, and after a failed unlock. Look for the differences in the logs. Those may provide useful clues.

Hi Thank you

I tried rebooting several times, keyring either unlocked or didn’t unlock, logs didn’t pull up anything that was related.

Since I use full disk encryption, I decided to remove the keyring password and leave blank instead.

Regards

If you changed your password, make sure you change your password in your keying (managed from seahorse or kdewallet) to your login password.

If your account logs-in without a password entry, a keyring unlock password request is expected behavior.
