It is for all like me who like more KDE Plasma stuff than GNOME. I am a big follower of Canonical and Ubuntu, but unfortunately the official Ubuntu is designed to work with GNOME and doesn’t give the option to choose KDE Plasma natively during the installation. So, for this reason, I had to do some tweaks on GNOME to be able to install and use the KDE Apps that I normally use on all my Ubuntu devices for my work and personal basis.
Since I didn’t want to lose my Ubuntu Pro, my decision was not to install Kubuntu or Ubuntu-Studio flavors or even to install fully KDE Plasma on the official Ubuntu, but to install only the KDE Apps that are more important for me to use on Linux.
For this, I made the following repo with a one-shot script:

KDE Apps:
Dolphin (As default File Manager and replacing Nautilus at all)
Konsole (As default Terminal)
Kate (As default Text/Code Editor)
Ark (As default File Compressor)
Okular (As default PDF Reader)
KDE Partition Manager
Kadenlive (Video Editor)
The script prompt will show the following:
The script will detect the GNOME style if it is Dark or White, and will leave the KDE Apps with the same color style but in KDE Plasma style. Also will make the MIMEs for converting the KDE Apps as default on GNOME.
My intention was not to be inappropriate with the GNOME or Ubuntu communities, because I respect them too much, since this is only for a personal election, and I have been receiving some asks from friends about how I did it on my Ubuntu devices, so I wanted to make it public for everyone.

This is a strange statement, Ubuntu Pro operates on a release base (if you use an LTS it will just work) it doesn’t care which UI you are running and has no UI requirements either (you can completely operate it from cli in the terminal).
It just gives you additional security updates and access to livepatch. Especially in the light of security updates from universe pro should actually be used by all users of flavors given that most flavors use a lot of universe packages in their default install.

As far as I know, and please correct me if am I wrong, we cannot enable Ubuntu Pro on the Ubuntu Flavors such as Kubuntu, Ubuntu Studio, and so on, because they are not fully official Ubuntu. So, my main focus and purpose in this was to be able to use KDE Apps on the official Ubuntu and Ubuntu Pro enabled on it.
You can enable Pro on any Ubuntu as long as the /etc/os-release file returns the correct value it expects, IIRC that is the only check … you should be able to use the pro command on any Ubuntu LTS install, be it server, desktop or any flavor (I think it might even work on mint (just assuming here) for example (but likely not on PopOS since they actually modify the os-release file))…
The general flavor rules indeed still apply, a flavor has a shorter LTS support lifecycle for the respective flavor related packages, so you will not get bugfixes for your desktop packages. but since they will be covered by Pro for security through the universe support Pro brings along, you will still get security updates for them …
