John Faulk | Membership Application

Hello, and good $(now),

My name is John Faulk, and within this email I am applying to become a member of the Lubuntu team, at the encouraging of my peers.

A summary of my contributions:

  • I have patched the Lubuntu-Arc theme to support the new Fancy Menu for LXQt, taking design suggestions from the Lubuntu team as I moved along.
Alongside this, I have actually used the knowledge gained from this contribution to merge patches upstream in LXQt to fix the themes that ship with it.

  • I have created a wallpaper for use in Lubuntu, which seemed to be well-liked and agreed upon by the team for use in Lubuntu 25.10.
I hope to continue to iterate upon this work to potentially include matching Plymouth and SDDM assets.

Take this short statement as my written agreement to abide and be bound by the Lubuntu Constitution.

I am free to meet at any time from Friday, April 4th, 2025, to Monday, April 7th, 2025. Specific times can be agreed upon with further discussion if needed.

Thank you, and I hope that this application finds you well.

Sincerely,

John William Faulk, Jr.

Can I ask you to add a link to your launchpad profile, also whilst you specifically mention the Lubuntu Constitution

I don’t see anywhere where you’ve signed the Ubuntu Code of Conduct (If it shows on your launchpad ID like it does mine as you didn’t provide your page we can’t check easily).

I admittedly can’t figure out how to edit my original post, but here you go!

I have signed the code of conduct as is required of me

Don’t you see a three dots menu under the post; clicking it should reveal a pen option; which if you hover over it should say “edit this post”. (this is somewhat from memory; I have three discourse sites open but I’m a moderator on all, thus options I see are more than what most users see)

Thanks for lp link.
