Introduction from Indonesia - Student & Canonical Summit Volunteer

Hello everyone,

My name is Rizkyana Nurfadillah, and I’m excited to introduce myself to the Ubuntu community from Indonesia.

I am a passionate open-source proponent and a multi-disciplinary engineer, currently studying at Institut Teknologi Tangerang Selatan (ITTS). My university, under the guidance of Indonesian open-source advocate Onno W. Purbo, is actively partnering with Sivali Cloud Technology (a Canonical partner) to build a new epicenter for open-source talent in our region.

My journey here is deeply connected to this ecosystem. I first joined an intensive cloud technology bootcamp hosted by Sivali at my campus. This experience was transformative and led me to a fantastic opportunity: volunteering for the Canonical X Sivali Executive Partner Summit 2025 held this past September in Jakarta.

This event was a deep dive into Canonical’s technology for Indonesia’s public and financial sectors, with talks on Ubuntu Pro, Microcloud, and OpenStack. During the summit, I had a unique role as a Live Production Engineer (FOH), managing the live stream and A/V production. It was an incredible experience to be at the intersection of robust infrastructure and real-time media.

My experience at the summit has fueled my passion even further. I am now actively expanding my knowledge into cloud infrastructure, specifically focusing on Docker, and Canonical’s MicroCloud/LXD, and I’m also beginning a deep dive into the fundamentals of low-level Blockchain Architecture (Cryptography, Merkle Trees, etc.).

I am joining this Discourse to connect with the global community, learn from your expertise (especially regarding MicroCloud and cloud-native strategies), and hopefully share my own experiences from the growing open-source scene in Indonesia.

Looking forward to being part of the conversation!
