Internet cafe

Cafe software is almost nonexistent for Ubuntu. Wondering whether the team has ever considered it

A free cafe does not seem to need full-blown cafe software – tracking time and price and securely handling payment.

A paid cafe can, of course, afford the paid software. It’s out there.

The suggestion pops up from time to time. Here’s one from 2005.

Guest mode is awesome in most cases. All it misses is a timer based logout which can be extended from a mother computer as per customer request.

Is there a paid cafe software that will work with 16.04 ?

The Internet Cafe should be noted as a friendly chat between individuals of a variety of many subjects, Not some paid what ever… This should where the humor and idle chit-chat and
other happenings occur on a regular basis.
Example: Did you here about the new platform for
Ubuntu 22.04 Server that includes … ???..!!! and the New …!
A place to be who you are not being else where. Hugh ?
I absolutely respect everyone here.
Express our ideas and intellect to make Ubuntu better
than every other operating system out there.
Right now on March 11, 2022 Ubuntu is ranked # 06 on Distro Watch. We have a ways to go… Does any one agree ? @~sabdfl

I totally agree. I remember that I first heard of Bitcoin at the cafe on Ubuntu forums. Back when Bitcoin was under 00.40 per coin. Too bad I never bought any.

In principle I like the the ‘idea’ of an Ubuntu Cafe. I mean why is there not one in CapeTown for example?

It sounds promising but to what end? (Other than discussing software?)
