I'm Having Trouble Launching DaVinci Resolve

Hello Folks, I’m making a switch to Linux because the Windows 10Pocalypse is upon us and I genuinely can’t stand 11 as well as the fact that my laptop is pretty up there in years and it seems that Linus the best way to optimize for the hardware that I have. I chose Ubuntu because I’ve worked with it before in college and it really seems to walk the line between a comfortable GUI experience and the pragmatic functionality of Linux.

I do some extremely crappy deeply part-time video editing on the side and my go-to editor is DaVinci Resolve. It has a ton of great features and support that I’ve grown to rely on. I’ve been having trouble getting it to work with Ubuntu and I’ve devoted this whole weekend to getting where I am now.
I ran into the usual issues with libraries not being present or out-of-date. Went into the terminal, did the beep-boops and got those squared away. Got the installer to run and install.
Now I have an icon that I can select in my Start Page, but all I get is the little “thinking” wheel before nothing. The program doesn’t start, and I don’t get any warnings or error messages, just nothing.
Is there a command line I can run in the Terminal to get the show going? Is there something that I have to do to get past some kind of system check/compatibility issue/guardian troll at the gate?

I know that you can’t tell exactly what’s going on from my description, but any suggestions or past experiences are welcomed to help me better understand the process and get more comfortable with the new environment.

Ubuntu Version: 24.04.3, latest distro

Problem Description:
Fresh install of DaVinci Resolve 20. Successful install, but program won’t launch.

Relevant System Information:
2019 Alienware M17
6-Core Intel I7 @ 4.1GHz
64 GB DDR4 @2666MHz
1TB SATA Main HDD, 1TB M2 Secondary HDD, open Tertiary HDD
NVIDIA RTX 2060 @ 6GB VRAM

What I’ve Tried:

I’ve successfully installed using the Terminal and manually updating or bypassing the libraries that are causing the errors. The program has installed.

I’m sure you’ve probably done an internet search but in case you missed this I’ll post this link:

That’s one of the ones that I’d read that got me to where I’m at, but I guess that I didn’t read all the way to the end.
Thanks!

Please bear in mind that people here can give their best guess, but DaVinci Resolve is not supported by the Ubuntu project.

Of course. I’m just trying to see if this will work at all. DaVinci recommends Rocky as their preferred distro, but I’m having trouble making Rocky work at all.

I wasn’t able to get Resolve to activate using that method, so I’m going to try using Davincibox since it’s supposed to be more reliable. I got the same issue trying to activate it yesterday, so I’m hoping I did something wrong and it’ll be fixed this time.

Unfortunately nothing worked and since this is kinda my main tentpole program, I had to keep shopping for OSes until one stuck.
It’s a bummer because I really like Ubuntu, but it is what it is.
I don’t want this to be a “bash Ubuntu” thing, so I’ll leave off with three nice things about Ubuntu that I’m already missing:

  1. It has a very clean an approachable layout with a permanently fixed dashboard.
  2. It comes packed with useful open-source features like LibreOffice
  3. It has a wonderful support network.
