If you have problems with Tuta Mail autostart etc. read this!

Hi guys!

Thought this could be helpful for those struggling with Tuta Mail. As you may know, it’s distributed as AppImage, so it’s compatible on all (at least on my knowledge) Linux distros.

I had problems with making it autostart and open after first run. It opened normally, I was able to give my credentials etc. and enable autostart and system integration from app itself. However, after reboot, it decided not to start at all.

I tried almost everything, but eventually stumbled into the fact that the AppImage is not be able to run in sandbox like most of it’s kind. Reason for this I don’t know, I guess it’s because of it’s auto-update option.

So! The answer to make app able to autostart and run after first start, is to add –no-sandbox to it’s .desktop file and to it’s autostart option. After this you should be able to run it just fine!

Hope this helps someone!
