I noticed on my windows share folder (smb), there are two folders that have this icon after them:

What does this indicate?
It depicts a folder with a network cable coming out of it.
The implication is that it’s a folder which is not on local storage, but is accessed over the network in some way.
This sets expectations that it could be slow, require authentication, be unavailable, or just switched off sometimes, which is less likely with local storage - which does not have the network icon.
