I’m new to participating in the forum but experienced when it comes to open source, Ubuntu, and development. Started out in 2020 with an old windows barely working but gave it a new life with Ubuntu. Worked with an open source server through red hat back in 2018 with my dad. Now I only run Ubuntu and open source if at all possible. Currently developing a phone call sorting app and hopefully going to help develop a phone os compatible with my Doogee 200s.
Who I am known as iain McClain and CEO of Maclean Of Duart Enterprises with my family as my assistant.
Where I live in Pennsylvania but grew up in Alaska. I’ve traveled overseas many times and seen many countries. Especially since my wife is from Kazakhstan.
When I started using Ubuntu systems and open source systems back in 2018 as I have already stated, but have made Ubuntu my basic system since 2020. I have built websites and servers on my personal laptop with Open Source hardware from Apache and Ubuntu.
What I an interested in connecting more with other developers and community users as well as working towards having a more universal OS for cell phones that is open source. The versions that I have seen are workable and usable but not so universal as a lot of phones have different apis and other operating systems that are able to work with the OSs. I look forward to being able to communicate with other developers and keeping ahead of the systems and up-to-date with all of the new technology that is being created and updated.
How If I can be connected with other developers and also find collaboration with other community members to be able to learn more and become a more proficient user of Ubuntu and open source systems, that would be the best for me I think. If someone else has other opinions with that and things they would like to share, I am fully willing to work with other people and looking forward to growing With The open source community.
