Not only was the ubuntu-mate.community a friendly informative group, it was far more active than this sub category that we were recommended to move over to. In addition, the ubuntu-mate.community site was far more reliable without pages frequently timing out when trying to load. I even received several draft errors just creating this post. Very frustrating.

Some issues with this site are the effect of some mitigations being applied due to the recent DDoS attacks. Normal [reliable] service will return.
(My wording here is āmore or lessā taken from a reply from Canonical IS on a recent RT/ticket on the matter)

I was active in the Ubuntu MATE community under the same name, but I had to register again here. Any way to get oneās credentials moved over - or do we all have to start as rookies here?

This site has existed for ~nine years (originally the Ubuntu Community Hub) so in those years various people (myself included in 2017) created accounts here, OR did so when they moved here from
- Ubuntu Forums,
- Lubuntu Discourse,
- Ubuntu MATE Discourse, or elsewhere
creating a new profile whenever they decided to join here. Itās a separate site.
Iāll add for any readers of this post, if you have Ubuntu credentials (Ubuntu Member etc) that donāt show on login here, you can PM the moderators and once we confirm the credentials, we maybe able to make them show here correctly.

We are also still waiting for final handover of many controlling accounts for UbuntuMATE to the freshly-formed ārevivalā Team, but some things are moving forward!

Many of us still visit the primary Canonical/Ubuntu Discourse now and then to keep our fingers on the pulse of things, with some doing so more often than others because of their āadopted rolesā. ā¦ and there is some cross-posting to ensure awareness is two-way!
