I have installed ubuntu-cleaner and have questions

I have been trying to run ubuntu-cleaner. Its kinda different. I bring it up and it sites there, there is nothing about it other than, I think, its running. So, I click on something and then I think it starts to do things but I am not sure. So I click on the top button but am still not sure if anything is happening.

After a bit of whatevers I get it doing something but I remain not sure of what its doing then it may tell me that I am clean. In all of those case I have never clicked on the package configs because it says that I have 5 of them that need something and I fear that I will lose something that I might not be a goog idea.

After messing with it I thought I had better ask somebody what is going on before I really screw things up.

Thoughts?

There are a few problems with this topic:

  • No category or tags. So you skipped the Start here page. Please don’t ask volunteer moderators to clean up impatience.
  • Ubuntu Cleaner is non-Ubuntu software. Adding non-Ubuntu software is the #1 cause of broken systems. Adding non-Ubuntu software is NOT recommended for new users, and some consider it foolhardy. As this is support for Ubuntu specifically, non-Ubuntu software could reasonably be considered off-topic.
  • The description of the problem is vague, and requires several reads to (perhaps) understand.

I hope you get the feedback on ubuntu-cleaner that you seek.

You can improve the probability of a useful answer, and perhaps saving yourself much grief, by using the Start here page, by sticking to Ubuntu software, and by taking a few minutes to really improve those descriptions. Adding screenshots is trivial; you can do that, too.

I will to ty to do your will next time. I went to the place that has ubuntu-cleaner and left. Their bills start at 500.00 and go up from there. Had I known that one I would never have installed it in the first place and am removing it right now. Its a shame that, someplace there are not suggestings on getting a program that is trusted, is reasonable, works, etc.

Anyway, thanks for the reply…

Your Ubuntu system did come with App Center for precisely the purpose of helping folks find trustworthy, working, reasonable software.

Most people seem able to find it without too much trouble.
It looks like this:

Yep, I even use it. I guess I wanted more but this is not bad at all. Its a bit strange. There are a couple of other program things too. Forget what they are though.

I also suspect that I have done it again, ie. asking a stupid question. I will try and do better.

Thank you for the response…

Since this seems to have been resolved, I am closing the topic.

Thanks.
