Try what? Also, be patient, just because there is a blinking cursor doesn’t mean it never finishes. With old hardware it just takes longer to unpack the live system.

You could try to launch the installer from the terminal
Open a terminal Ctrl Alt t
ubuntu-desktop-installer
If there are errors or warnings, the terminal output may provide a clue…?
When I select safe graphics mode, I’ll let it run overnight I guess.
I am very new, that input says command not found and I’m unsure what command I should add for that one, is it a sudo or something?
You shouldn’t assume that the blinking cursor signifies some kind of crash, was the point.
Still waiting for the hardware specs, BTW. Since this seems to be related to graphics, we need to know your graphics card at the very least. Edit your initial message so everyone new to the topic can see.
to be 100% clear, I wasn’t assuming the safe graphics mode was crashing, the only thing I am saying is crashing is the install program in the live session.

Try this:-
ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap
It will start the GUI installer, but if/when it hesitates, stalls, crashes, you may be able to see a message…?
Failing all this effort, download Lubuntu 26.04, it uses a different installer calamares - it could be your saviour

Can you please fix that formatting? It is really annoying having to read console text in a quote block with wrapped lines and variable-width font; all formatting and alignment goes down the drain that way. If you want people to help you, make it easy for them to digest your info.
Plus, there seem to be no line breaks at all; it’s all just one long line. 
Yeah it was the last thing I did before hitting the hay and the UI on this site, while good, is still pretty arcane to me still.
Regrettably, the output did not provide any decipherable clues for me.
Are you still reluctant to try Lubuntu 26.04 with the calamares installer?
My only reluctance is due to wanting everything running the same thing, but I’ll fiddle with this a bit longer with the knowledge that I have a back up. Thank you so much for your help.
I recently refurbished a similar Dell Studio with similar specs. I ended up installing the Mint Xfce edition on it. Ubuntu’s new installer just doesn’t play well with legacy boot. I could get Ubuntu installed but it would boot once and after that, it couldn’t find the boot partition.
Mint installed fine and Xfce was a lot more responsive than Gnome Shell on this hardware. I ran into the same issues on a much more capable Dell Precision that is 14 years old. I installed Zorin Lite on it.
I think the new installer still has some bugs, at least as far as legacy boot is concerned.

What kind of “solution” is that?! Paraphrasing:

A: Don’t run it.
You should file a bug report from within the live session, because it has the telemetry and crash report data.
That “solution” probably only “works” because Mint isn’t even offering a 26.04 yet. I’d wager that running the Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS installer would “solve” the issue, which is probably related to Wayland on an old Nvidia GPU, just the same.
