How to use Nautilus to connect to a NFS share on another Ubuntu PC?

Ubuntu Version

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

Desktop Environment (if applicable)

GNOME

Problem Description

I’ve successfully setup a NFS share to another PC on my home network: both my desktop & the other PC (running my web server) use Ubuntu Noble. I can see the www folder (in its ~/www directory, but I prefer to use a directory in my home directory rather than www-data in a / directory) using ls:
john@Desktop:~$ ls -al /mnt/www
total 16
drwxrwxr-x 4 1002 1002 4096 Apr 2 2025 .
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Oct 2 16:57 ..
drwxr-xr-x 2 1002 1002 4096 Sep 27 09:58 html
drwxr-xr-x 2 1002 1002 4096 Sep 16 15:22 pictures
I’ve tried various ways to see the directory (and its contents) using ‘Other Locations’ in Nautilus but none work.
PS The mount point for the Web Server’s www directory is /mnt/www and the WebServer’s NAT address is 192.168.178.28.

Edit the /etc/fstab and change mount point to any directory you prefer.

I don’t want to do this permanent solution using /etc/fstab for reasons that I don’t want to go into. I used the temporary solution using a mount command.

Then you can use any mount point in your mount command.

Apologies for my misleading first post in this thread. I meant that the question is: how do I access the share in Nautilus. I think that I’ve just spotted the answer, namely (in Nautilus) ‘Other Locations’, click on Ubuntu and then navigate to the mount point (i.e. /mnt/www). Only downside is that I can’t modify files in the Web Server’s www directory due to permissions being ‘Read Only’. I guess that I can solve that by changing the www directory (including its files) on the Web Server to allow Others to ‘Create and Delete’ files and making the point in my home directory on my Desktop

You’ll need to update the export on server side to give the write access
